The oldest fashion house in France is launching a line of dolls this season that will help raise money for women in Africa living with HIV. The dolls are handmade by a group of HIV-positive women in Swaziland, and proceeds from the sale of the dolls will benefit Dessine l’espoir–a charity which supports these women and others living with the disease. The aim of the project is to provide income and to improve the quality of life for the women and their families.
Each limited edition doll is dressed in a miniature Lavin dress and retail for about $350.
