Happy New Year Curl Friends! Welcome to 2013!
As with every new year, my personal resolution is to become better; smarter, more kind, more tolerant, patient, and to love better.
This is the beginning of my first year fully natural.
This Sunday was my first Beauty Day Sunday and as I sat with my clay wash, I decided to plan a few hair goals for myself.
My first resolution is to consistently protective style. It’s much more suited to my keep it simple, stupid (KISS) lifestyle. Additionally, I believe it helps keep single strand knots at bay. For this week’s look, I modified and simplified my Roll and Tuck style, which I wore for most of my transition to natural hair.
Repeat the same procedure for the Right section
The Back Section:

I’ve worn this style since Sunday. My usual MO is to wear PS through Thursday.
My next resolution is to publish more Youtube videos. You can find me @NaturallyDemure on YT

Thank You
Along with publishing more YT videos, I plan to do more blogging. I do so many little DIY projects at home and never post them. In 2013, I’ll be posting more regularly!
One thing I’d like to try is having my hair trimmed professionally. I purchased my own shears last year and cut off maybe 1/2 of an inch of hair all over but I know that I need to have it done professionally.
This year I’d like to try a long term protective style such as senegalese twists and the poetic justice (box) braids. I’m not convinced mini-twists are the best options for my hair, so I’m going to mimic the style by adding hair extensions. Currently, I live in Orlando and honestly, I’m not sold on having my hair braided or twisted in the state of FL. It takes too long to install the braids/twists and is too expensive for the style to come out wrong. I may have to take a trip to the DMV so I can get them done the right way!
If you know of any reputable braiders in Orlando, please pass along their contact information!
Have You Made any 2013 Hair Resolutions?
I like your resolutions. I think eery gal should have them. The important thing is to make sure we have plans to implement those resolutions. I did a video of mine on YT (reviyve) if you want to check them out.
Hey Beauty!
I am subscribing to your YT now!
