“Stepping onto a brand-new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole woman.”
As I approached the 3rd year writing this blog, I decided to change the site address to a name! Although initially the name I chose held significance to me, I wanted readers (old and new) to associate the site with natural hair.
I was inspired to use “Knotty Natural” as a result of the “knots” that popped up soon after I did my big chop after transitioning for two years. These knots are affectionately known as single strand knots by the natural hair community. At this point, I’ve learned to live with them to a degree. I do not rip them out, or even try to wrestle with them when I find them. If I have scissors handy, I cut them out; otherwise, I leave them alone! If I see a lot of them, I take that as a sign that I’m in need of a trim.
I’ve carried the online moniker “Knotty Natural” for a while now and at this point, I’ve transitioned site name and logo to match! I appreciate your continued support. Stayed tuned for new content!
