This summer, I have been experimenting with hair tea rinses! I’ve been using a variety of loose herbs to create teas, which traditionally I’ve done as a final rinse on clean hair. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with different uses for the tea. So far, I’ve successfully used it as a remoisturizing spray, a final rinse, a pre-deep conditioning rinse, clay facial and finally, it’s one half of the liquid I use for my bentonite clay mix (I’ve listed my recipe below :)).
As you know, I am an avid user of the L.O.C Method both as a transitioner and once I was fully ; I’ve sang it’s praises from here to Youtube and to anyone who will listen! Today I ran across a scientific experiment which visually illustrates how moisture (water) becomes trapped when we use oils and cream as a sealant. More on the experiment here.
Happy Fierce Friday!
Have you checked out my video, “Natural Hair Tutorial: The LOC Method“?
This video showcases the results!
The style I’m wearing is a partial protective style. It can also be worn by transitioners by rolling the relaxed ends on a perm or flex-rod.
I discuss how changing up my product yielded a different result. Lastly, check out how I untwist my hair for my twist out.
If you have tips to share, spill the tea
Thanks to my new and existing subscribers!
I put together a tutorial on how I have been using the L.O.C Method to seal in moisture.
Currently, I’m experimenting with different products to see what yields the best results!
Would love feedback!
Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about having to switch up my old method to moisturize my fully natural hair. My old method leaves my hair feeling dry; as we all know dry hair can lead to breakage, and I’m too early in the natural game to let that happen!
I began researching other methods to retain moisture.
My old method included using a liquid leave in, a creamy leave in, followed by a butter to seal. Worked like a charm while I was transitioning! I am unsure if it is the method or products being used that is causing the dryness. As I set out to find a solution to my hair problem, I came across another method of moisturizing:
