Since Jan of this year, I’ve traveled at least two weeks consecutively out of each month, and during March I was on travel the entire month. Usually I travel within the states, but I was sent to Korea recently and there is a trip to Germany I am hoping to get assigned to me. In January 2013, there will also be a Hawaii trip to which I have been assigned…I’m really looking forward to that one!
At the beginning of this year, I signed up for the Protect Ya Ends Challenge, hosted by Black Girl, Long Hair. Here’s how I did:
January 2, 2o12, starting stats and goals:
- Ending Point: 19 months into a 2 year transition. Total length of hair between 9-11 inches
- Crown Length: 7 inch new growth, 3 inches relaxer, Back: 7 inch new growth, 1-2 inches relaxer, Front-Side: 7 inch new growth, 3 inches relaxer
- Goals for March 31, 2012: Growth, Moisture, and Length Retention, and hopefully to achieve more creative protective styles
Happy Hump Day!
In addition to being the first day of Black History month, this is also my 21 month Transitioning Anniversary, YAY ME! Congratulations to all the transitioners who decided to take the plunge and transition to natural hair. I hope your transition allows you to learn and love your hair, as I have during mine. Check out my tips for transitioners, present and future.
I found a widget to count down to my BC, which I have decided will be on Saturday June 30, 2012. Just in time for the Essence Festival in New Orleans!
Challenge Post 1:
“Happy New Year!
I’m off to seal my ends!
Tomorrow, I am going for Naptural85’s Simple and Charming “Natural Hair” Updo | Protective Style.
Stay tuned for the Tuesday Morning Takedown pictures!”
Challenge Post 2:
As promised, click here are the follow up pics!
Just wanted to check in with some photos for this Tuesday Morning Take-Down!
Yesterday was beauty day! As promised, here a few shots of the dried hair after using the Aztec Indian Clay.
Last night after trying the clay, I set my hair in about 10 braids. This morning, I carefully unbraided them using coconut oil. I lightly fluffed the hair out to disguise any parts and to make the hair fuller for the style. My Protective style idea was an attempt at Naptural85’s Simple and Charming “Natural Hair” Updo | Protective Style.
