Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending a Curlfriend’s luncheon! The luncheon was hosted by Tiffany and Lois, both Central Florida Bloggers and Vloggers.
I’ve been to a few natural hair shows, get togethers or informationals that purported to provide information for women with natural hair. I haven’t been impressed with the information presented, for the most part. I always felt as though they lacked real tangible information for women who were looking for answers on how to care for their hair. Most of them spoke about beauty, fashion, and marketed (expensive) products to women with natural hair, rather than to actually speak to women about practical techniques or ways of determining which products would work for their hair type.
The “For the Love of Curls Luncheon” was truly the exception!
What I loved most about this event was that the ladies were approachable, interested in inspiring other women through sharing their own experiences, and finally we exchanged practical information about best practices for caring for our natural hair. I was especially impressed with how the ladies were able to fit the discussions, Q&A, and give aways into the two hour window; that can be difficult with a room full of information hungry people!
Overall, I had a great time! I enjoyed discussing the joys, trial and tribulations, as well as sharing information with the women on a more personal level! I can’t wait until the next one!
