Occupy Natural!

Hey Curls!

I’ve been MIA working on some things…Traveled to Europe over the holiday and will be sharing my overseas hair experience πŸ™‚

On another note, IDK if you have been keeping up with the political climate around the globe, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself right in the middle of an Occupy Protest as well as a bus boycott! WOO! It was awesome!

On a lighter note, I think would be great if we could get naturals to Occupy:

Beauty Supply Stores: They don’t work for us, we work for them, especially if you have relaxed hair. There is so much controversy and exclusions in the Black beauty industry here in America, you’d be surprised!

Swimming Pools: When I was relaxed, I stayed away from the beach and water in general…I can’t wait to BC just so I can rock my fro at the pool πŸ™‚

Outdoor Activities: Let’s run marathons, climb mountains, ski, go boating, biking…anything that means we are outside interacting with the elements

Gyms: When I was relaxed, sweat was not my friend.Β  Shallow I know, and even now, I am ashamed! But no more πŸ™‚ Though I am transitioning, I still find that when I workout, my hair isn’t an issue. I usually wear protective styles weekly though. When I have a performance, I noticed that even when not in a protective style, my hair doesn’t fall. I’ll update you once I am fully natural.

Restaurants that Focus on Health and Wellness: Eating well should be a goal for everyone. Now that look at healthy living as a lifestyle, I am more conscious about what I put into my body. Eating well will result in healthy hair

That my 2 minute list I came up withΒ  πŸ˜‰

Where do you think Naturals should be Occupying?
